FAQ Article - The VA Blueprint: Everything You Need to Know About Working With Me

Hi! I'm Anna: the Friendly Networkhood Freelancer.
If you're here, chances are you're considering bringing your next secret weapon into your business and wondering what that process actually looks like. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stretched too thin, or simply looking for reliable support: you've come to the right place! I believe great partnerships begin with clear communication, realistic expectations, and mutual trust. So before we talk about projects, deadlines, or deliverables… let's answer some of the questions I hear most often from prospective clients!
“Tell Me About Your Pricing”💰
Every business is different— which means every project is too!
Rather than offering one-size-fits-all packages, I tailor my services to the specific needs, goals, and scope of each client. This allows me to provide support that is both effective and fair, whether you're looking for ongoing assistance or help with a single project.
As a general guideline:
Hourly contracts typically range between $18–$21 per hour, depending on the complexity, duration, and responsibilities involved.
Larger project-based work (such as website design, extensive administrative projects, or comprehensive content creation packages) generally falls between $800–$1,200.
Smaller project-based work (such as one-time batch content creation) often ranges between $250–$500.
Certain services may be quoted on a per-piece basis, such as:
$0.10–$0.25 per word for written content creation projects
$1 per page for some editing services
$5–$50 per image** for graphic design work, depending on complexity
For example: Long-term administrative support, social media management, and ongoing content creation are typically billed hourly; while a one-time package of social media graphics, blog posts, or branding materials may be quoted as a flat-rate project.
My goal is simple: to create pricing structures that fit both the work and the client, rather than forcing either into a predetermined box.
“Where Can I Find Your Business Policies?” 🤔
Transparency and open communication are important to me.
General versions of my business policies (including cancellation procedures, refunds, professional conduct expectations, and client protections) can be found on my website's Policies page (accessible via the link in the footer). That said, every project comes with its own contract and onboarding documents that outline how those policies apply to our specific working relationship. I always encourage clients to review these documents thoroughly before work begins so we both move forward with complete clarity and confidence.
“How Do You Accept Payments?” 💳
I currently accept payment through:
Wave Financial invoices
PayPal
Interac E-Transfer (Canada only)
Invoices are delivered electronically and include straightforward payment instructions to make the process as seamless as possible.
“What Do You Specialize In?”✨
The short answer? A little bit of everything.
The longer answer is that my experience spans a wide variety of industries and disciplines, including:
Administrative Support
Operations Development
Social Media Management
Content Creation
Graphic Design
Website Design
Editing And Proofreading
Resume Development
Sales Support
Publishing Assistance
I've spent much of my career learning how to learn. Working with clients from vastly different industries has taught me how to adapt quickly, solve problems creatively, and become an effective extension of almost any team. However, I suppose if I had to pick: I specialize in helping business owners/entrepreneurs (including authors) reach their full potential!
While I certainly have areas where my experience runs deepest, one of my greatest strengths is flexibility. If you're unsure whether your project falls within my wheelhouse, I encourage you to ask. You may be surprised by the answer.
“What's Your Stance on AI?” 🤖
Artificial Intelligence is one of the most discussed— and often misunderstood— tools in modern business.
My philosophy is simple: AI should enhance human work, not replace it.
I use AI tools to support brainstorming, research, organization, and workflow efficiency when appropriate. However, I never rely on AI as the foundation of my work. Every piece of content, strategy, design, and deliverable still receives careful human oversight, refinement, and decision-making.
Technology can speed up a process. It cannot replace experience, creativity, judgment, or genuine human connection. Those are things I refuse to outsource.
“Where Do We Start?”: My Onboarding Process📋
Every successful partnership begins with a conversation.
Step One: Consultation
We begin with a consultation call, typically conducted through Zoom or Google Meet, though I can also accommodate Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, or Facebook Messenger when needed. A $50 non-refundable consultation deposit is required to book your session. This fee covers the time spent reviewing your needs, discussing potential solutions, and determining whether we're a good fit for one another.
Step Two: Proposal & Documentation
Following our consultation, you'll receive the first drafts of your onboarding documents, which may include:
Service Contract
Statement of Work
Project Proposal
These documents help define expectations, responsibilities, deliverables, timelines, and communication standards before any work begins.
Step Three: Building Our Working System
Once everything is signed and approved, I establish the systems we'll use to work together effectively.
This often includes:
A shared task list
An hours log (for hourly contracts)
Shared documentation or project resources
Communication channels tailored to your preferences
My goal is to create a workflow that feels organized, transparent, and stress-free from day one.

"What Is Your Typical Turnaround Time?" ⏱️
The honest answer is: it depends.
A quick administrative task may be completed the same day, while larger projects such as website builds, editing projects, or content strategies naturally require more time.
Rather than promising unrealistic timelines, I prioritize clear communication and proactive updates. You'll always know where a project stands, what's currently being worked on, and when you can expect the next milestone.
What Are Your Standard Business Hours? 🛎️
My standard business hours are:
Monday–Friday
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
Do You Work With Clients in Different Time Zones? 🌎
Absolutely! One of the benefits of working remotely is the ability to collaborate with people from virtually anywhere. I've worked with clients across multiple regions and regularly adjust schedules, communication plans, and project timelines to accommodate different time zones. When coordinating meetings and deadlines, I simply ensure we're both working from the same clock.
How Do You Handle Urgent/Last-Minute Requests? 🚨
Life happens. Businesses pivot. Deadlines move. Whenever possible, I do my best to accommodate urgent requests. Rush work may be subject to additional fees or scheduling considerations depending on workload and availability. For complete details, please refer to my Policies page and your Service Contract.
Can We Jump on a Call When/If I Want To? 📞
In most cases, yes. I believe strong communication is one of the foundations of a successful client relationship, and I strive to remain accessible throughout our time working together.
My only humble request: I ask for approximately ten minutes' notice before unscheduled phone or video calls. This allows me to wrap up current work, gather any necessary information, and ensure our conversation is productive and focused.
Are There Any Tasks You Don't Do? 🙅♀️
I believe every project deserves a conversation before a decision. While there are certainly tasks that fall outside my expertise or capacity, I rarely dismiss opportunities without first understanding the context. Part of what has made me successful as a Virtual Assistant is my willingness to learn, adapt, and find solutions. If I genuinely believe a project isn't the right fit, I'll tell you honestly— and if possible, point you toward someone better suited to help. I don’t believe in gatekeeping resources or clients at AtFNF!
What Happens If I Need Services Outside Our Original Agreement? 👀
Look, I get it. Businesses evolve, and sometimes projects do too. But scope creep is a real issue in my line of work, so if additional services become necessary: we can amend our existing documentation through addendums, revised scopes of work, or updated contracts. Any changes are discussed and agreed upon by both parties before new work begins. This way, we avoid all the unpleasantness that often spawns from assumptions, surprises, and a lack of communication!
What Are the Most Common Reasons Contracts End? ⌛
Most client relationships conclude for positive reasons: projects are completed, priorities shift, budgets change, or businesses move in new directions. In the rare instances where I have terminated a contract, the reasons typically involve violations of contractual terms, extended communication breakdowns, or circumstances that prevent the working relationship from remaining productive for both parties. That said, I believe strongly in professionalism and preserving relationships wherever possible. To date, every contract termination has been handled respectfully and through mutual discussion. Because at the end of the day, business is built on relationships— and as corny as it sounds: I genuinely value every one of them.
Still Have Questions? 🙋♀️
